How to Start Selling on Amazon Australia

Amazon Australia is a fast-growing marketplace with lower competition than the US. Here is how to get started.

Amazon Australia launched in 2017 and has grown steadily. Competition is significantly lower than Amazon US for most categories, which means faster ranking and lower advertising costs for new entrants.

To sell on Amazon AU, you need an Amazon Seller account with Australian marketplace access, a GST registration if your annual turnover exceeds A$75,000, and inventory either in Amazon AU FCs or available for seller-fulfilled delivery.

FBA in Australia requires inventory sent to Amazon's Australian FCs. The prep requirements are similar to Amazon US, but you need to create separate shipment plans in the AU marketplace rather than using US shipment plans.

Shipping from South Florida to Australia via air freight takes 3–7 business days. A Florida 3PL can prep inventory for Amazon AU and dispatch directly to Australian FCs, making AU expansion straightforward from a single US prep operation.
