Food products must have expiration dates prominently displayed in MM/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY format. Amazon requires at minimum 90 days remaining shelf life at time of FC receipt — products with shorter shelf life will be refused.
Multi-unit food packs must be sealed so individual units cannot separate. Amazon requires that bundle packaging be sufficiently secure that units cannot fall out during handling — bags must be heat-sealed or securely taped.
Temperature-sensitive food products generally cannot be sent to Amazon FBA unless they qualify for Amazon's temperature-controlled receiving. Most perishable goods are excluded from standard FBA.
For shelf-stable food products, prep requirements are straightforward: correct FNSKU, expiration date visible, secure packaging, and carton weight within Amazon's limits. A good prep center handles food SKUs as a standard workflow.
